Split Easy’s recommendation is determined pursuant to a mathematical algorithm, based on the parameters set by the Family Court of Australia. Essentially, all the information collected in the fact finding modules, forms the basis for calculating the suggested percentage. It is neither binding nor guaranteed, simply our assessment of what is fair and reasonable considering the Court’s criteria, applied to the information you have provided.
It is at this stage; the final negotiation process commences. This involves deciding on the actual split of assets, i.e. who retains what items or possibly identifying those items that are required to be sold and the proceeds divided. The aim is to ensure that the assets and liabilities are shared in a manner that is consistent with the net asset split agreed to or determined by our Percentage Split Calculator.
On the basis you both agree on all items within the Split Easy modules, we will produce the necessary legal documentation for signing by you both for lodgement at the Family Court. If children are involved, the legal agreement will document matters regarding where the children live and the time they spend with each parent. This ensures the agreement is binding. In addition, Split Easy will provide a list of housekeeping instructions and suggestions to guarantee the process is completed as efficiently as possible.
